Project Description

“For the first time in my life, some nights were perfect.”

BASED ON THE SHORT STORY BY MARA STERNBERG

In a devised, original production, Brown Box and Icaro Teatro will collabrate again to bring to life the 2013 Stella Kupferberg Memorial Short Story Prize winner, When We Lived Together in the Belly of a Whale, Some Nights Were Perfect. Nine young people have left the rest of the world behind to live in the belly of a whale. Telling stories, sharing secrets, and searching for a steadiness in their ever moving new home, the nine experience some perfect nights. Days turn to week, weeks to years, and the nine must cope with flickers of nostaglia, and the thick, damp air of their heaving home.
