With this production of Romeo and Juliet, Brown Box expanded its reach with the Second Annual Free Shakespeare at the Beach. Eighteen performances were held at eleven venues, including matinee performances for seven major area schools. Over 3,000 people came out to see the free outdoor performances, as well as over 3000 students. Deemed “deceptively sublime” and “two hours of sweet traffic,” this production was acclaimed by audiences of both Boston and the Eastern Shore.
