Project Description

“If music be the food of love, play on.”
WRITTEN BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE | DIRECTED BY KYLER TAUSTIN
Twelfth Night was performed throughout the month of September 2011 in Maryland and Delaware. Ten performances were held at seven venues, including matinee performances for five major area schools. Despite a cold and rainy performance week, over 2,100 people came out to see the free outdoor performances, including 1500 students. Of those students, schools estimated that only 1 in 4 had ever seen a live performance of any kind, much less a 400 year-old Shakespearian comedy. Brown Box Theatre Project’s first annual Free Shakespeare at the Beach was a great success, offering local communities new access to an old classic.
